3 Generations of Self-Storage

Liberty, a generational investment firm based in Orlando, Florida, prioritizes lasting relationships and innovation. Founded by Mike and Melissa Mikkelson upon their relocation to Orlando, they established their first Self-storage facility in 1990 near International Drive. Despite economic challenges, the facility succeeded and was leased out within a year. In 2005, their son Adam joined, advancing through various roles in hospitality and self-storage. In 2021, Adam became CEO after purchasing Liberty, which has now invested in 80+ US properties spanning self-storage, hospitality, office, and multi-family sectors, totaling over $1 billion in capital.
